Casa Bellavista is a B&B in the true English sense, a home that is opened to visitors who wish to experience the true lifestyle of a Tuscan family.
Three double bedrooms, each with it’s own bathroom, are open to guests. Guests also have full use of the indoor common rooms such as the library, the sitting rooms and the dining room. There are also the outside spaces; the park, the orchard with it’s views of Cortona, the garden with it’s 180° views toward Montepulciano, Mount Amiata, Sinalunga and Monte San Savino, the swimming pool.
Casa Bellavista's breakfast is served buffet style. Dinner is prepared on request with dishes from the best of Tuscan culinary tradition. All dinner guests are seated around a single table, a choice that reflects the style of Casa Bellavista: even the largest of families sit around the one table.
Casa Bellavista is in the Cortonese hills.
The first written record dates to the second half of the 18th Century, when Casa Bellavista was a farm producing extra virgin olive oil, cereals, and the famous tobacco used for “Toscani” cigars.
The smaller building, now completely restored, was once used for drying the tobacco leaves for manufacture. The ground floor rooms of the main house were stables used for the famous “Chianina” beef cattle, and the upper floor was the family’s home.
Today, only the external walls and some parts of the interior remain of the original building, due to extensive restoration in the 1970’s.
