Entering Cortona through Porta Sant'Agostino and heading towards Porta Santa Maria, one finds him/herself going along Via delle Mura del Mercato, the street that skirts the ancient city walls.

 Here lies an old three story Palazzo that has been divided into 2 apartments with a breathtaking view of the Chiana Valley that stretches out below Cortona. The city walls were built by the Etruscans in the 5th century b.C. and was later restored by the Romans and again in Medieval times. The Palazzo has recently been restored maintaining the old Terracotta floors, the sandstone arcades and the wooden beams of the ceilings.
The “Casa Gregorio II” apartment is on the second floor of the old Palazzo. The front door opens into the sitting room which has beautiful 19th century frescoed walls. The apartment consists of a sitting room with comfortable furniture and satellite television and a gallery with a sofabed and reading area.

There is a well equipped kitchen with antique Tuscan furniture, a bedroom with a double bed, a bedroom with twin beds and 2 bathrooms with showers.
