Entering Cortona through Porta Sant'Agostino and heading towards Porta Santa Maria, one finds him/herself going along Via delle Mura del Mercato, the street that skirts the ancient city walls.
Here lies an old three story Palazzo that has been divided into 2 apartments with a breathtaking view of the Chiana Valley that stretches out below Cortona.
The city walls were built by the Etruscans in the 5th century B.C. and was later restored by the Romans and again in Medieval times. The Palazzo has recently been restored maintaining the old Terracotta floors, the sandstone arcades and the wooden beams of the ceilings.
"Casa Cappucci" is a ground floor apartment with a wonderful view. It is made up of a living room exquisitely decorated by Umberto Capucci in 1923, with a sofa and comfortable chairs and a cooking and dining area. There is one finely furnished double bedroom and a bathroom with a shower.
Casa Cappucci is an excellent choice for those who want to enjoy the town centre of Cortona with its alleys and trattorias where to rest and taste the traditional Tuscan cookery.
