Cortona - The Hotel Villa di Piazzano is an ideal base for a series of activities. For example, those wishing to improve their knowledge of Italian cuisine and wines, can attend cooking classes at the Villa, participate in a wine tasting event in the ancient cellar, or olive oil tasting during the November harvest season in one of the nearby mills.
COOKING CLASSES
At the Villa we can teach you all the secrets for preparing a typical Italian gourmet dinner. The classes are for a minimum of 2 people, can last one or more days, according to the requirements of the “student”. The lesson starts at 11.30 am and finishes around 1 o’clock with a tasty lunch served in the garden. You may contact us for further details and costs.
WINE TASTING, OLIVE OIL TASTING AND VISITS TO NEARBY MILLS
The wine cellar of Villa di Piazzano can be placed at the disposal of small groups which would like a wine tasting session organized by a professional sommelier. This activity needs to be pre-booked. Furthermore, from May to September we organise special wine tasting evenings for all of our guests. In November, which is the period of harvest of the olives, it is possible to participate to guided visits of a mill where the olives are crushed and pressed using the traditional technique with the old stone press.
